CnEVPost Newsletter: NIO battery plant construction begins; Li Auto reports Q4 earnings
NIO's battery team has been boosted to 1,000 people and is developing its own lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) and 46 series ternary batteries, according to local media.
NIO's F1 plant is operating normally and is preparing for the introduction of new platform models, a spokesperson told CnEVPost.
Li Auto guided for first-quarter deliveries of 52,000 to 55,000 vehicles, meaning it expects to deliver a total of 36,859 to 39,859 vehicles in February and March.
The price cuts are promotions by some dealers in some areas, and BYD is not considering cutting prices at the moment, a company source said.
BYD's battery base in Wenzhou has a planned investment of RMB 6.5 billion, with the first production line expected to start production in 2024.
Lithium miners in Yichun, nicknamed the "lithium capital of Asia," are being suspended for production violations that analysts expect will affect 13 percent of the global lithium supply if production is halted for a month.
